All of the following events are fundraisers for  The Altapass Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization established in 2002, to “preserve and maintain the integrity and uniqueness of the area and its culture through programs and projects at The Orchard at Altapass.” The Foundation is MOST appreciative of the work of dozens of volunteers who make these efforts possible.
 

	Monday, May 26 from 11:00AM-5:00PM THE ORCHARD CELEBRATES ITS CENTENNIAL AT A VERY SPECIAL MEMORIAL DAY BARBECUE AND COVERED DISH DINNER. Join the party as we honor the contributions of The Orchard and the town of Altapass in 100 years on the Blue Ridge.
	Friday, July 4 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM JULY 4th BARBECUE AND COVERED DISH DINNER, a good ol' fashion picnic with music and dancing all day, saluting the USA.
	Saturday, August 2 5:00-8:00 PM- MEMORIES FOR KEEPING - - A special Orchard Centennial Event: recording family histories stored in the memories of our mountain friends and neighbors, music featuring traditional musician/song collectors Bruce Greene and Rhonda Gouge, a picnic of mountain foods, swapping and recording generations of stories, and sharing of family photos to be displayed at The Orchard. A scanner on-site will make copies while you are there. Come participate, or just soak up the history.
	Friday & Saturday, August 29 & 30 at 7:30PM It's Dixieland Jazz on the Blue Ridge! THE DIXIE CHAPS BRING DOWN THE HOUSE with traditional New Orleans-style jazz.  The show was so well received last year that the Dixie Chaps band will bring us two new and exciting performances to help support the Altapass Foundation.
	Friday, August 15 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM You're invited! The Altapass Foundation celebrates The Altapass Orchard Centennial with an elegant dinner dance and a unique auction of artists and art. Proceeds help support the preservation programs at the historic Orchard. SAVE THE DATE! More details to come soon.
